The Egyptian Tree of Life Papyrus painting is considered as an adaptation art from the Sassanian art period. Ancient Egypt was not a closed culture but it was seeking to gain from other cultures as well. The tree of life is a symbol of hope and life. Since every bird on the tree symbolizes a different stage of life. Starting from the right side of the tree, the birds represent Infancy, childhood, youth, adulthood, and maturity. Each bird on the tree has a feature of the life stage it depicts. On the downright side, the bird represents infancy as it has a kind of innocence on its face. Just above it, there is the bird that symbolizes childhood, feeling curious about life. The one above it symbolizes youth having the freshness of being young and free. The bird next to it is spreading his wings and ready to fly to explore life and learn all about it. Finally, the last bird represents maturity, standing still as he got enough wisdom and knowledge from life.
Professional Egyptian artists paint the scene the same as the original, using rich Gouache paint. It refers back to Ancient Egyptian artists, that they used Gouache paint to paint on walls of tombs and temples. Gouache paint is a mixture of oil and watercolours with Heavy and smooth effects, gives a high-quality scene reflecting each detail of the “tree of life”.
Our papyrus is Royal and different from any papyrus in the market as we have a licence from the Government to follow the same process of planting it as Ancient Egyptian. The thick reeds of the papyrus plant are cut into equal lengths strips, which were laid side by side at a right angle. One layer is laid horizontally over the other and pressure is applied to them for two weeks to produce a dark-colored Papyrus sheet.
